College, the gateway to higher knowledge, higher salaries and also higher stress levels. Not only are students stressed about the next assignment will be or even the next test, but here at Salt Lake Community College it is more like when the next time they get a parking spot anywhere in the general vicinity of where they must be. College is a different place than high school and it does make a huge difference on where you park. With several different buildings around campus and classes for students being scattered throughout all of them, time is short and being late is a reality everyone will need to face. Is it fair to say that there is not enough parking? No. In reality there is an abundance of parking around the school but really how much room for faculty is truly needed? The real problem with this is that the ones who pay to park and pay high prices for schooling are the ones fighting for the spots. its just like at a restaurant, the customers should get the best pick of the parking lot while the employees either park in the back or farther away in the front. Perhaps the only thing to do is just show up rediculously early for your classes. seems like there should be a better way.

While taking the bus halfway is always an option, I wonder if it is possible to pave more parking area. If not, we must think of a solution soon. Otherwise, we will continue to have chaos and violence over who gets to park where.
ReplyDeleteYeah i know what you saying and its becoming a big problem for me.I usually come an hour earlier just to get a decent parking spot. I paid for the parking permit but i dont know what i paid for honestly.
