parking on a college campus is always a difficult situation. on many occasions it seems as though the spots are so far from class that you would be late just from the length of the walk to class. i'm not trying to complain about walking to my classes, exercise is good for everybody and walking the distance to class does not hurt anyone. there are plenty of ways to fix the problem of parking, the first would be the students themselves getting to school earlier than their classes would start. this solution has good points as well as its drawbacks, the good is that the students could then get better spots and everything would be much easier. the downsides of this idea is that if each student gets to the school early and their class has not begun, it will cause a bottleneck from teh ammount of students getting to class and the number of students leaving their classes. the next idea would be to make the teachers park farther away. again there is a couple issues with this. if the teachers park farther away teh students would have a couple more spots closer to the buildings and it would be easier to get to their classes. the bad side of this is that if the teachers have to park farther away then maybe they would be late to the classes and then the students would leave anyway. the next thing that could be done is maybe taking some of the tuition money or the money made from the parking permits and tickets themselves and build a parking terrace. if the school were to do this, yes, it would take a bit of money but it may make it so that the students were more willing to but their parking permits if they knew that they could park fairly close. but the main problem with this is that to build a structure like this it would require zoning and other steps, plus then the school couldn't blow money on sliding doors and tile, as well as a brand new pointless fountian!

truly there is nothing that many of the students at these schools can do since the school has already made up their mind on how they like to spend the money, whether it is smart or stupid. personally i feel that they should just do away with the parking passes completely since the parking usually is not very good and we already pay a hefty ammount for books and the tuition. like the school really needs my extra 15 bucks.
